About

A love of sports and writing led me on a path to the four newspapers I’ve worked for during and since college. I wanted to be on the sidelines breaking the biggest sports news. I relished in the privilege of sharing people’s stories. I enjoyed using any medium available to convey information with readers. Ultimately, though, my course shifted as I saw the impact and import of investigative stories. Covering sports is no longer writing game stories and player profiles. It’s understanding and explaining business and law. It’s handling social issues with nuance and compassion. It’s being a watchdog. In nearly two decades in journalism, I have found my niche in that role. At its core, my profession requires me to be a seeker - of information, of sources, of data and of people. Good storytelling only follows from great reporting, and I’m proud to continue my pursuit of both.

Investigating

A well-developed love of seeking and sifting through information has allowed me to hone my investigative skills. Background research, online searches and public records requests help me to obtain data, explain trends and illuminate problematic situations.

Writing
